packaging (n)
pæk.ɪ.dʒɪŋ
1: an act or instance of packaging something or someone: such as
A : the enclosing of something in a container or covering
B: the presentation of something or someone to the public in a way that is designed to be attractive or appealing
My approach to packaging is to embody the feeling of someone picking up a game as a kid, looking at the back of the box, reading the manual, and checking if it had a reversible cover.
So with that in mind, I got the chance to work on one of my favorite cartoons, The Simpsons.
Kidrobot X The Simpsons
WELCOME TO MOE'S TAVERN
This project was to design packaging for the Kidrobot vinyl figure collection, the theme Springfield’s most recognizable pub Moe’s Tavern. I took inspiration from the diamond pattern on the windows as a major motif.
Happiness is just a flaming moe away
Packaging design for Kidrobot’s vinyl figure collection this time the theme is based on the classic Simpson’s episode Flaming Moe’s.
The box itself has spot gloss finish on the pattern to give it a classy feel the highlighted elements are to evoke the neon sign that was used in that episode. Fun fact this was my first project creating a glow effect in Illustrator I was very proud of the end result myself.
